Born in Dresden in 1965; Hartmut Jentzsch is a composer. After his Abitur in Nuremberg in 1985 he studied bassoon, music theory and composition, the latter with Martin Christoph Redel in Detmold and with Hans Zender in Frankfurt am Main. On the Cybele album DEGEM Vol. 5 – Imaginary Landscapes (2000) he is represented with “bleistift music” (1999), made in the electronic studio of the Frankfurt Musikhochschule: pencils, cork, a clothbound edition of Beethoven’s piano sonatas, Korean finger cymbals, fingers and fingernails are scraped, rubbed and struck on a table fitted with a contact microphone to capture the expanse of the ocean in the tininess of a pencil. In addition there is a contribution to the audiobook Mirjam Wiesemann: Weht ein Stadtspaziergang durch den Traum (2014).
