Jugendkantorei der Evangelischen Singakademie Wiesbaden

Youth choir of the Evangelische Singakademie Wiesbaden, an institution of the Evangelisches Dekanat Wiesbaden based at the Lutherkirche. The Singakademie was founded in 2015 by Jörg Endebrock and grew out of the children’s and youth choir work of the Bachchor Wiesbaden. It runs five choral groups – Spatzen, Lerchen und Füchse, Kinderkantorei, Jugendkantorei and Junger Kammerchor – in which almost 250 children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19 sing each week; it is directed by Kantor Niklas Sikner with a team of seven. Besides the Lutherkirche there is a location in Eltville. The Jugendkantorei works on sacred and secular choral literature as well as large-scale oratorio works and takes part regularly in services and concerts, among them the Reformation service, the Lichterfeier and the Advent concert. It is open to all children and young people who enjoy singing, regardless of religion and denomination. In 2018 it took part in the Cybele production Oskar Gottlieb Blarr and the Jesus-Passion (chorus preparation: Jud Perry).
