South Korean conductor and pianist; he studied at Seoul National University and completed his master’s studies and Konzertexamen with distinction at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart with Rasmus Baumann, supported by a Deutschlandstipendium. He made his conducting debut at the age of 21 in the master class of the Korean Conductors Association. He was solo répétiteur at the Theater Osnabrück, and at the Korea National Opera in Seoul he assisted Lothar Koenigs, Yves Abel and Sebastian Lang-Lessing; in 2023 he reached the semi-finals of the Kussewitzky International Conducting Competition. Since the 2024/25 season he has been second Kapellmeister and assistant to the general music director at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. On the album Jean-Pierre Leguay: Jubilus (2024) he conducts members of the SWR Symphonieorchester in Leguay’s “Jubilus” for six instrumentalists.
