Philipp Marguerre

Philipp Marguerre studied piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim with Andreas Pistorius and attended masterclasses with Anthony Paratore at the Mozarteum Salzburg and with Klaus Schilde among others. Since 2010 he has given concerts as a pianist and song accompanist, among them regularly with the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg. In 2002 he became a member of sinfonia di vetro; since then he has appeared as a glass instrument player and opera soloist. He plays in particular the Verrophon developed by Sascha Reckert and with it has appeared as a guest at houses such as the Semperoper Dresden, the Royal Opera House, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bayerische Staatsoper, La Scala in Milan and the Salzburger Festspiele; since 2012 he has taken part in performances of George Benjamin’s opera “Written on Skin”. His interest lies in the repertoire of the early Classical period and Romanticism as well as in new works for glass instruments; in 2006 he founded the music publishing house Inter-Note for original works for historical and modern glass instruments. In 2017 Cybele Records released Bernd Alois Zimmermann and the Late Symphonic Works with him on the glass harmonica.
