Roberto Doati

Roberto Doati was born in Genoa in 1953 and is an Italian composer and researcher in electronic music. After early experience with free improvisation and tape music he studied electronic music with Albert Mayr and computer music with Pietro Grossi and Alvise Vidolin, and worked at the Centro di Sonologia Computazionale of the University of Padua. His works join instrumental, electroacoustic, interactive and audiovisual procedures and have been supported by La Biennale di Venezia, international research centres and festivals, among others. Teaching posts in electronic music took him to several Italian conservatories; in 2020 he ended his academic career at the Conservatorio „Giuseppe Nicolini“ in Piacenza.
