Sebastian Gottschick is a conductor, composer, violinist and viola player. He studied conducting, composition and violin in Berlin, Hamburg and at the Juilliard School in New York and joins early music, contemporary music and music theatre in his work. In 1989 he came to the Ensemble Oriol Berlin as leader and took over its artistic direction in 1993; from 1994 to 2003 he was musical director of the Neue Opernbühne Berlin. As conductor, arranger and chamber musician, Gottschick works with orchestras and specialist ensembles in Europe and the USA and writes compositions and arrangements for the most varied forces.
