Born 1974 in Hagen; Sven-Ingo Koch is a German composer. He studied instrumental and electronic composition, piano and musicology at the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen and in San Diego and Stanford with Roger Reynolds and Brian Ferneyhough. His music has been performed by international orchestras, string quartets and ensembles such as musikFabrik, Ensemble Modern and Klangforum Wien. Koch joins precisely worked layers of sound, expansive shaping of time and the productive friction of heterogeneous musical materials.
