Tobias Liebezeit

Tobias Liebezeit was born in Wuppertal in 1967. He studied percussion with Stephan Froleyks at the Musikhochschule Münster and with Markus Hauke at the Mainz conservatory; master classes with Robyn Schulkowsky and Matthias Kaul completed his training. Scholarships from the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music and the Gesellschaft für Westfälische Kulturarbeit and the City of Düsseldorf award in 2001 mark his early stages. His artistic focus lies on the experimental avant-garde, on first performances and on collaboration with the Amsterdam Barton Workshop, of which he has been a member since 1997.
