Tom De Cock is a Belgian percussionist, conductor and artistic director with a focus on contemporary music. He completed his percussion studies with distinction at both the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and deepened his work at the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. As a doctoral candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Royal Conservatory in Brussels he developed methods for teaching and performing complex percussion literature. De Cock was principal percussionist of the Brussels Philharmonic and has been a core member of Ictus since 2014; at the same time he directs the Kortrijk festival and teaches on the Advanced Master in Contemporary Music at KASK/Conservatorium Gent.
