Christina Singer

Flute

Flautist; she studied with Klaus Schochow and Robert Dohn in Stuttgart, where she completed her advanced artistic studies with distinction in 1992. Her first engagement was as principal flautist at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, then she played in the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz. In 1991 she joined the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, which merged into the SWR Symphonieorchester in 2016, of which she was a member in 2024; with the orchestra she played under conductors such as Georg Solti and Teodor Currentzis. From 2001 to 2008 she taught at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Saar. In 1997 Bayer Records released her premiere recording of Charles Koechlin’s “Les Chants de Nectaire” for solo flute; in 2008 she became a member of the TrioConBrio (flute, viola, guitar). On the album Jean-Pierre Leguay: Jubilus (2024) she plays Leguay’s “Trois esquisses” alone and with the pianist Sabine Sauer and takes part in “Jubilus”.
