The recorder player Ines Rasbach studied in Frankfurt am Main with Sabine Bauer and Michael Schneider and in Rotterdam with Thera de Clerck and Han Tol. After several first and second prizes at Jugend musiziert she won first prize with the Trio Diritto at the International Recorder Competition in Calw in 1992; with that ensemble she also made recordings for Moeck and Cybele. Her collaboration with Musica Antiqua Köln, Le Concert d’Apollon and the harpsichordist Guy Penson and her appearances at the Tage Alter Musik Herne and the Oberstdorfer Musiksommer document her engagement with historical performance practice. Since 2000 she has been a member of Apsara, an ensemble that joins early and new music for recorders and draws in electronic sounds and unusual instruments. With the Zeder Consort she presented a Renaissance programme around Philippe de Monte at the Lunalia festival in 2021. The Apsara recording of Matthew Shlomowitz’s Explorations in Polytonality and Other Musical Wonders, released in 2024, stands for her intensive work on the contemporary recorder repertoire.
