Description

without compression – Neue Musik für Blockflöten brings together seven works from 1993 to 1997. Rolf Riehm, Myriam Marbe, Anatol Vieru, Violeta Dinescu, Georg Kroll, Stefan Thomas and Malcolm Goldstein show the recorder in highly different compositional contexts.

Jeremias Schwarzer, Martin Hublow and Ines Rasbach shape the works as a polyphonic ensemble sound. The three instruments do not appear as a uniform block, but assume changing roles, respond to one another and form ever-new constellations.

Rolf Riehm’s title work without compression is written for three electronically amplified recorders. It opens a sequence that consistently leads this familiar instrument into the realm of contemporary music.
