Born in 1966, died in May 1996; Kevin Gilbert was a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. With his progressive rock band Giraffe he released the album “The Power of Suggestion” in 1987; at the invitation of Madonna’s producer Patrick Leonard he recorded the Toy Matinee album in Los Angeles, released in 1990. In the Tuesday Night Music Club sessions he took part in seven of the eleven songs on Sheryl Crow’s album of that name, singing and playing keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. His solo album “Thud” went largely unnoticed; his rock opera “The Shaming of the True” was released posthumously in 2000. On the gala recording Doc Heilein and Friends Gala 2021 – Joyful (2022) Levin Blümel and Leslie Jost sing “All I Wanna Do”, which he wrote with Sheryl Crow, David Baerwald, Wyn Cooper and Bill Bottrell.
