Rolf Gehlhaar

Born 1943 in Breslau; Rolf Gehlhaar was a German-American composer, sound artist and researcher. He studied philosophy of science and music in the USA and worked from 1967 to 1970 as assistant and ensemble member to Karlheinz Stockhausen. With Johannes Fritsch he founded the Feedback Studio and its publishing house; research visits took him to IRCAM in Paris, among other institutions. His artistic work examined perception, interaction and the accessibility of new instruments and electronic sound worlds.
