Choir of the Katholische Hochschule für Kirchenmusik St. Gregorius in Aachen. The institution grew out of the Kirchenmusikschule St. Gregorius-Haus founded by Heinrich Böckeler in 1881, received university status in the year 2000 under the sponsorship of the dioceses of Aachen, Essen, Cologne and Trier and was closed with effect from 31 March 2007. Its teachers included Michael Hoppe (organ), Raymond Janssen (orchestral conducting) and Elmar Lehnen (organ, choral conducting). The choir was made up of students of the church music college and of other faculties, performed oratorio works and a cappella concerts and took part in special services; it was directed by Steffen Schreyer, who was appointed professor of choral conducting in Aachen in November 2001. For Cybele the choir took part in the first recording of Michael Denhoff’s Credo op. 93 and op. 93a, together with Irene Kurka (soprano), Alban Lenzen (baritone) and the Orchester der Kölner Kammermusiker on the album Michael Denhoff: Credo (2004).
