Siegfried Fietz

Born on 25 May 1946 in Bad Berleburg; Siegfried Fietz is a German singer-songwriter, composer and music producer. He became known for his 1970 setting of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s poem “Von guten Mächten”, which is included in several regional sections of the Evangelisches Gesangbuch. In 1974 he founded the publishing house Abakus with his wife Barbara; for ten years, until 1996, he presented the programme “Lieder zwischen Himmel und Erde” on Hessischer Rundfunk. Alongside oratorios on biblical figures he wrote a musical about Saint Francis, which was premiered on 27 May 2016 at the Katholikentag in Leipzig.
