Arjan Woudenberg

* 1977; clarinettist; he studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague and at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Pierre Woudenberg, Harmen de Boer, Hans Colbers and George Pieterson and graduated with distinction in 2003; with a scholarship he studied with Hans Deinzer for several years. In 2002 he became solo clarinettist of the Radio Kamer Filharmonie and the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest in Hilversum, which still lists him as principal clarinettist. With the DoelenKwartet he has played quintets by Mozart, Tristan Keuris and Wolfgang Rihm. On the album Karl Amadeus Hartmann and the String Quartet (2009) he plays Hartmann’s Chamber Concerto for clarinet, string quartet and string orchestra with the DoelenKwartet, Sinfonia Rotterdam and Conrad van Alphen, on Calliope Tsoupaki: Triptychon (2016) the middle movement “Lychnos tis posi mou” for clarinet and string quartet with the DoelenKwartet.
