Percussion

* 1964 in Singen; German percussionist; studied in Freiburg with Bernhard Wulff, Taijiro Miyazaki and Franz Lang. In 1985 he was a prizewinner at the International Competition for Percussion Duos in Avignon, and from 1987 to 1989, with the Freiburger Schlagzeugensemble, he worked intensively with Luigi Nono. After a first orchestral post in 1989/90 with the Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester Basel, he became a member of the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt in 1991, where he is solo percussionist and deputy principal timpanist; as a soloist he has appeared with this orchestra and the SWR Symphonieorchester. He plays in a trio with the organist Susanne Rohn. On the albums Arrangements for 2 Organs and Percussion (Vol. 1) (2017) and Arrangements for 2 Organs and Percussion (Vol. 2) (2019) he plays percussion with Jörg Endebrock and Susanne Rohn at the two organs of the Lutherkirche Wiesbaden.
