piano possibile – ensemble für neue musik

Ensemble for new music

Founded in Munich in 1993; the ensemble for new music with up to twenty members focused on combining music and scenic presentation. In 2000 its repertoire comprised some eighty works, thirty of which it had premiered. Besides its own productions such as “Brainwalker II” at the Münchner Kammerspiele (1998), it performed at the Münchener Biennale and at “Ensemblage” in Rotterdam and worked regularly with the Bayerische Theaterakademie. In 1997 it received the Förderpreis für Musik of the city of Munich, and in 1999 the special prize marking the founding of the Forberg-Schneider-Stiftung; its musical director from 1996 was Christian Günther. On the album piano possibile (2000) it plays works by Klaus Schedl, Carl Christian Bettendorf, Armando Gentilucci, Hans-Jürgen von Bose and Mark-Anthony Turnage under his direction.
