Dutch violinist; since 2007 second violin of the DoelenKwartet, which concentrates on the string quartet literature of the modern era and the present. She plays alongside Frank de Groot (first violin), Karin Dolman (viola) and Hans Woudenberg (cello). The DoelenKwartet is the resident quartet of the Concert- en Congresgebouw De Doelen in Rotterdam, where together with the DoelenEnsemble it has presented a concert series for new music since the early nineties; since 2007 these concerts have belonged to the international series “Red Sofa”. The repertoire comprises more than 200 works from the early 20th century to the present, which the quartet deliberately places beside classical works. It has worked with Henri Dutilleux, Wolfgang Rihm, Harrison Birtwistle, Steve Reich and Peter-Jan Wagemans, among others. For the two string quartets by Karl Amadeus Hartmann it drew not only on the Schott edition but also on Hartmann’s manuscripts from the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek. Three albums connect her with Cybele as a member of the DoelenKwartet: the audiobook Arnold Schönberg: Die Prinzessin (2008) and the conversation volumes on Karl Amadeus Hartmann (2009) and Hans Erich Apostel (2010) from the Edition Künstler im Gespräch.
